About Us
The Wake County Young Democrats are a diverse group of young adults between the ages of 18 and 35. Our membership spans many racial, cultural and socio-economic boundaries. We come from different backgrounds and have a wide array of personal hobbies and interests. We live in all corners of Wake County.
While diversity plays an important role in the strength and success of the Wake County Young Democrats, it is our prevailing similarities that unite us and activate us.
The most glaring connection is the passion we share for the principles of the Democratic Party, a commitment to equality and justice. It is the belief that this country and our community stand stronger when the status of ALL its citizens is advanced, regardless of racial, cultural and economic divides.
Wake County Young Democrats are not angry or pessimistic. But, we believe in the civil liberties that make us America and that make us FREE. We believe that dissent is NOT unpatriotic, but rather the very foundation of who we are and where we came from.
Using the words of US Senator, John Edwards, we believe in the politics of what is possible. And it is our fight to turn what is possible into what is real.
